Let me apologize if I'm being redundant (going to dinner & want to respond quickly). We started with what looked to be a pretty good bike rack from Camping World that attached to the insert that our dinghy tow stuff goes into. (Hope you can tell what I mean by that.) It wobbled too much. I addressed that, but quickly came to find that too many of the places I wanted to ride were not within bike riding places of the RV parks. I went to a good bike shop and bought a very good bike rack for that goes into the receiver I had put on our C-RV. Looked at roof racks, but was concerned that if I ever got hurt, I wouldn't be able to hoist my mountain bike up there. And I did & I would have been in trouble. You want the bikes on your car so you can get to the trails.

Great advise from ALL - thanks! :)

We're not traveling yet in our newly purchased motor home. I will be trying to carry a tandem (7 feet long total!) and a "Fat-bike" w/4" wide tires. I will be using some sort of hitch-mount as then I can just "plug" it into a Class II receiver that we'll have on the toad (an 05 Corolla which will be on a dolly(?)...) I'll probably just use a dual-hitch adapter at the motor home receiver to keep the bike rack above the dolly hitch. (?) for stability I'll probably keep the tandem bike closest to rear of the RV and try to stabilize with an attachment to the ladder(?) - IF I get to all this this summer I'll be sure to post how things work (or not...?) {:\
