I like/have Walmart's Reese SportWing. It comes in two versions; the 2-bike and 4-bike. Get the 4-bike. If you only have 2 bikes then the second bars are removable but more importantly, the 4-bike is a 2" drawbar where as the 2-bike is a 1.5" and an adapter for 2". However the adapter requires tools and thus becomes more difficult to remove. I like the SportWing because it will carry different size bikes as well as gender-all evenly. The rack holds the bikes by the rims and not the frame so no bar adapter is needed for ladies bikes. The "V" bars also remove easily if I want to open my MH engine doors and not want to remove the entire (empty) bike rack.

We went with the Blue Ox rack between the coach and the toad. I like it there much better than having them mounted on the back of my toad.

Thank you for all the info. We are going to get a dual receiver SportRack 3 bike. I think we are going to get a bar for the women's bike..is this really nessary?

We never used the bar but then the ladies bike sits on the rack at a bit of an angle.

just remember that if you have a DP the bikes will be subject to a lot of dirt and 190 degree airflow.

Might want to leave a little room for pressure growth in the tires.

Blue Ox - Drop Receivers

Dan, I was unaware of the Swagman bike rack. I have a cheap version of this style but the bikes tend to rub together at because it doesn't have a good top support to keep them separated. I really like this style of rack as it is really easy to load and unload but don't want to spend silly amounts of money for a Thule or Yakima. Do you have any rubbing problems with yours?

i mount one bike facing left, the other right. the only rubbing that can occur is where the upper support meets the upper bike tube. i use a piece of swim tube to minimize this.
i have the xc2 style that fits in the top part of my dual receiver. i got my swagman at camping world. ims it was under $200.

Thanks Dan, that's exactly the setup I am looking to do with the dual receiver on the back of the coach to get the bikes off the toad.

I use a dual receiver for the bike rack. Need the drop to level the tow bar so if worked out perfectly for me. I did have to cut the tube that goes in the hitch so the rack wasn't over the tow bar vertical pivot point.

Ok question for those with dual hitch receivers. I am planning that setup with a Blue Ox tow bar. With the bikes in place, I don't think I will be able to "stow" the tow bar as it has to come totally vertical to then come to the side and the horizontal? Am I correct on this? Has that been an issue? Thanks

I have the Sportwing for 2 bikes and a drop hitch adapter turn upside down. I like it because there is no metal rack under the tires to interfear with the toad when turning. I got the drop hitch from Harbor Freight Item#99591 for $25. Another one is Item#66966 but I needed a 4" drop for my tow dolley. I got my Sportwing from Sam's club for $40 but you can get them from Walmart.

We've been using this ladder rack from CW for
past couple of years that works great. Easy to load and unload. Also doubles as rack for Tailgater when needed. They're about $40. Have a hitch mount Yakima for Wrangler but never use it now.

We had a Swagman rack for a while and it was very destructive to our bikes. The bikes jiggled around so much in it that the paint scraped off the top tubes and one bike's top tube got a dent in it.

We upgraded to a Kuat NV Bike Rack. This is a phenomenal rack. Here's a review we wrote with lots of pics of it. You could put it in a 1.5" hitch receiver on the back of your toad.

We use one of those large twist ties to hold up and stow the tow bar to the bike rack. It works fine in the campground and around town. I would not use it on a long trip.
