Lowes has AAA and AA Rayovac alkaline batteries in 36-pack for $5.87! I bought two of each.

They also have a 1000-lumen LED flashlight at 1/2 price for $20. I got one of those too!

I generally try to avoid the department stores on black Friday. The usually seen if shoppers trying to kill each other over the last iPad in the store at 50% off. However state trailer supply sometimes has real good deals on black Friday.

I tried out that 1000-lumen flashlight last night. That thing is incredible!

I discovered something last year.. Due to medical issues I was on the road on Thanksgiving day.. Drove past a Wal*mart about 10 pm and,, Well, there was not enough room in that lot for a skate board, let alown a 38 foot motor home with towed.. Found a supermarket closed for the holiday and there I parked.

Net AM, before the store opened (did not wish to disturb their business) I hit the road to another Wal*mart about 7-8 miles farther down the road (you know those smart phone apps like DAT and RV-Parky that find all those lots are real nice)

Got there around 7:30 AM.. There were around 2 employees for every customer, I mean that place was all but EMPTY,, Got what I wanted (They still had it) emptied my gift card into ye old motion-lotion container (Gas Tank) and 48 hours after turning the key in Taylor, MI, Parked at South-Cove park, Seneca, SC (Where I was headed).

This year I was a bit later, perhaps 8-8:30 when I hit Wal*mart (Brunswick, GA) the Employee/customer ratio was down to around 1/1. Still lots and lots of parking for my car (no motor home this time) when I got there. Again, They still had what I wanted. In fact I am setting it up now (Well one of the items, the big ticket one, my new HP netbook for the ham shack)

Yup ... I was in Home Depot on Friday around 06:30 (I normally get up around 05:30), got our poinsettias, some batteries, and the Battery Tender and was home brewing coffee at 07:00 . Then I searched for stuff on the web ... couldn't find anything I actually needed/wanted and thought about breakfast turkey

Hit Best Buy and purchased a couple different SD Memory Cards generally used in digital cameras and other portable devices. Actually purchased the cards online and picked them up at store before closing. Good thing because the Memory Card racks were bare. They must of had additional stock in the back. Also purchased a digital camera online to keep in the motorhome.
