The grey tank fills first and that's our dump factor. I wish I could pump some grey water into the black at times, but I don't plan to make new holes in the tanks for that.

I have read that you can easily transfer grey water to the black tank by capping off the discharge and opening both valves. The higher pressure in the grey tank forces water into the black. I have never tried it though.
I park mostly on the private property of friends and family. They allow me to release my grey water that is almost pure water on a nearby tree. I have a sewer cap that has a garden hose connection and 25' of hose.

I close the grey valve only when the black tank is about full. That way I can flush the hose after dumping the black.
