I had 2 chips repaired, smaller than a dime each, by Elite/ Safelite auto glass about 2 mo ago. My insurance paid it all with no deductible.
I went to the MH today and both of them have grown close to 12 " and already spreading in 4 directions. All on the drivers side.
I guess they can charge for a so called fix, but they're not responsible if it was done right or if it will work.
I guess I'll have to pay the $500 deductible and my insurance company will have to pay again.
Has this happened to anyone else?

I've had many Safelite windshied repairs over the years. As I recall, they issue a guarantee that it will not spread when they do the repair. You need to take a good look at the paperwork you got with the repair to see what kind of warranty they provided.

Mine had been fixed by Safelite before we purchased the rig. I ended up having to replace both windshields due to "repaired" areas spreading a few feet (and have them removed/installed twice) to get them to seal properly.

My insurance company, the MH mfr. and "Tracy" at Duncan Systems were gracious and prompt in helping resolve this issue.

BTW, all the "repairs" do is buy you a bit more time before replacement is required. With all of the flexing these coaches do and the small contact areas for the glass to bond to, you have a real problem if you get any stars or cracks.

I have heard of poeple applying some optically true clear impact resistant material similar to Diamond Shield but I haven't been able to find it...yet.
