If you are in need of the Aqua Hot while boondocking, do you have to turn the generator on? Thanks ahead of time .......... Don

It has a diesel fired burner to provide heat when no electric or engine heat is available.

... but (assuming your Aqua-Hot is similar in operation to my Oasis) it still needs electricity (probably 12v) to start the burner, run the fluid pump, and run the heat exchanger fans as needed. When we boondock (well, Wallydock actually) with ours in winter, the AGS may kick on the genny in the middle of the night if the Oasis (which is the only thing running at that time) draws the batteries down far enough.

Your Aqua-Hot will operate just fine from your batteries while you boondock. You do need to monitor your batteries (at least the first night) to verify that you have enough battery capacity to run the unit overnight.

Your Aqua-Hot uses around 8 amps when the diesel burner is running. Each zone pump uses about 1-2 amps when they are running and the Aqua-Hot heat exchangers (inside the coach) use about ½ amp each when they are running.

We have boondocked a lot with our Aqua-Hot. It works great.
