We have a 2008 Dolphin DL35C on a Ford F53 chassis. Does this unit have an emergency brake reservoir that requires occasional refill in the rear somewhere? I've looked but can't find it so far.

Your Ford has a drum brake shoes around drive shaft. If you lube your chassis you will see it after transmission in a metal housing. You may want to lube the linkage because it will get rusty.
Your hydro boost has a reservoir that has to be checked and filled to line on cover shaft. One other thing to check are the hoses coming out of hydro boost braking system and make sure the hoses are not chafing on metal frame of chassis.
If they are protect with spaghetti wrap or redress away from frame.
You will not know you have a leak only the cars behind you and when you have to apply your brakes and there is nothing there to stop you.

It sounds like you are thinking of the 1996 - 2000 (or so) GM "Autopark" system. In this, the emergency brake is held on by a very strong spring. When you move the tranny lever out of Park, a hydraulic pump runs and releases the spring. There is a reservoir for the ATF used in this system. Also, the control switches can leak fluid and the emergency brake can come on at inopportune times.

Thanks, but we do have the Ford system that does have the brake shoe assembly at the rear of the tranny, and I did find the filler plug in which to top up the fluid. Thanks anyway.
