Brand new 2015 ACE 30.1

Beautiful new ACE. Picked it up yesterday. Window over entry door makes a noise when driving. I was in the passenger seat and I got up and checked to see if the window was loose. It is not. It is solid. Our service manager mentioned possibly removing the window and shaving the opening and re caulking. We are worried about this. Any comments or wisdom?

I work in an autobody shop and when we need to find an air leak around a door, you put tape around parts of the door/window and test drive and listen. Continue putting tape around until you find the spot. Hope this helps.

Welcome to the forum, and congrats on the new ACE. Is the noise a wind noise or a rattle?

If you go to the trouble of removing the window you might consider something like this as a replacement. I have seen them and they are very nice.

Thor ACE 30.1

In our model there is a small window above the entry door. It is not in the door. It constantly creaks, loudly especially if we drive the rig over any bumps. We put felt padding between the screen and the door and underneat the blinds, covering this small window. Looking to see if anyone else had or has this problem. We are taking the rig in tomorrow. We bought it brand new and it is a 2015.

So, it is creeking vs. road noise. So the issue will most probably be how the window is set into the wall.

The window should be removed, checked for clearance (is the cut-out is big enough?) and re-set with new sealing material.

Best luck

Thanks for the Advice

We are taking our rig to Camping World today to look at the window. Your recommendation sounds like it is a good possibility. Thanks again.
