Cleaning off bugs? Well, we get plenty on the windshield no matter where we go. But we never drive through Lovebug areas in their seasons of “love”.
I worked part time as a pump jockey in Southeast Georgia in the 70s. I refused to work the pumps during THAT season. So I got a job at the Navy Exchange.

The great East Texas Lovebug Massacre........

A few weeks ago, driving from Longview / Kilgore, TX down to Austin.

I had to stop halfway to clean the windshield, and this is what it looked like at the end of the day.....

I had no idea that we were heading into this. A couple points we hit huge swarms and it was like driving in a heavy rainstorm just watching these huge black masses coming straight into the windshield.

Took me a good 45 minutes at least to clean the front cap and windshield off using plain water per my usual end of a driving day routine. I finish off the diamond shield using a detail spray and then will usually apply Griot's Bug Barricade.

I use one of my extension poles with an appropriate wash mitt head for the windshield and a heavy knapp microfiber cloth on the diamond shield. I use plain water when dong this daily cleaning of the windshield / diamond shield so I don't have to use a hose to rince off any soap etc.

Great info. What about a class c with the over hang 12' up. Hope there is a easy way of cleaning it every day.

At the end of the days travel keeping the bugs wet for 10 min or so then wiping with a dryer sheet while rinsing as i go gets them off. I use wash wax all on the coach and seems to help a little on the front with the bugs.

One thing i wouldn't use is either dawn or simple green as that will take whatever wax there is off.

Here in Florida right now the love bugs are out so its a daily thing with the cars.
