Butane bottles

I am carrying a small, single-burner butane stove for outdoor cooking. It uses small 10-12 oz bottles which I have stored in the original cardboard box. Where is the best place on a Class A DP to store these bottles and minimize the fire risk? Thanks.

If you have space and a shelf to put them on, the big propane bay is a good place since it's open to the air already. Any leaking propane would be vented out.

In an already ventilated compartment, which is usually where the propane tank is or the battery bank.

However, the little 1# bottles do not have a vent and are rated by the NFPA as safe for indoor storage. That's why you can find them on store shelves, while the bigger (and vented) Blue Rhino tanks stay outside. I wouldn't lose sleep over it.
