after i plug in my inverter/charger continues to buzz for the entire plug in time....days at a time. seems to me it used ti turn off after awhile.
my in coach sensor indicates float charge w/ batteries at 13.4 dc.
this buzzing is sort of loud.
in all honesty, i haven't looked real hard at the problem...sort of was hoping for some help before i started.
the magnum in coach display has buttons for inverter on/off and charger on/off. do most leave these on all the time of after an initial charge and hooked up to shore turn the charger and/or inverter off. is there any reason to keep ---especially the inverter---on when hooked up to shore.

Hi Bob,
It depends on how your coach is wired. If you can turn the inverter off and still get all your appliances to work, go for it. My coach requires the inverter to be on for the appliances powered by it to receive power.

The buzz should be a barely noticeable hum. I'd guess your inverter/charger is failing or just a bad one.

Have you talked to Magnum tech support about the excessive noise?

It's also possible that something is just loose enough in it to vibrate from the 60 Hz vibration/hum of the transformer (if you have one with a large transformer in it). Some of the newer models that are sine wave do not have the large transformer. At any rate, I'd keep an eye on it. As Gary said, it could be going bad.

I've got the same thing going on in my Sharp microwave/convection when the magnatron kicks on. It buzzes like a banshee for a couple of minutes. Then, what ever it is, heats up/expands enough for the buzz to stop.
