Remember they do separate them for a reason. being stuck with no jumper source and no way to start the generator can be a bad deal.
Cell Phones have dead spots if anything else could go South.

Well I ran the Genny lots and had no problems. In fact we had to run the Genny for many hours while traveling to keep our dog cool ( and us of course). Batteries were fine. Almost feel there is no need for the alternator to charge house batteries in our situation. Still going to get it fixed because I like everything to be working as it should.

As a $50 or less fix it is not bad compared to some. I just replaced the front jack on mine. Ouch. Only 11000 miles on this thing and a jack goes bad. I think they threw mine together with whatever parts they had left before the bankruptcy. I know they didn't build the jack of course.

These motor homes seem to all be put together with chewing gum.

So just a quick update on this very old thread, we did replace the solenoid and after a short period the circuit board thingy that sends the signal to the solenoid burnt out. So I have decided to leave it as is..... so when driving if I want the house batteries to be charged by the alternator I depress the booster switch and hold it open with a plastic button...... so far so good........
