Camping World - Are They Done? (Update April 2019)

Good Day Fellow RVers,
Looks like Camping World has a real problem, from insider trader to malfeasance by Marcus Lemonis. A fellow friend RVer sent me this morning.

Part 1:

This is shocking! Anyone dealing with CW should take real caution. Worth keeping on top of.

Best Regards

This guy has been beating this particular drum for a long time. CW sucks in many ways, but they aren't going out of business any time soon, and Lemonis, who is still the majority shareholder, isn't going anywhere either. There is a suit against him by investors who decided CW's public offering was promoted a bit too enthusiastically, but suits like that seldom succeed.

The planned rebranding to Gander Outdoor will probably help shed some of the stench of CW's poor reputation.

People can try to wish them out of business all they want. It ain't happening.

This guy lays it out perfectly as to why Alan Warren (the guy in those videos) is irresponsible and doesn't know what he's talking about.

The big Camping World in Katy, TX (west side of Houston) shows no signs of business or financial problems. Many, many dollars are being spent to modify that facility to house Camping World and its recent acquisitions (Gander Mountain and Overton's). The Camping World "store" will occupy one half of the existing building space that was the indoor RV show room. The other half of the building where the Camping World store will become the shared Gander Mountain / Overton's "store. A new indoor RV showroom is being constructed.

Camping World in Statesville NC seems to be enjoying lots of free advertising at the moment.

I have read somewhere that this guy had better hope that CW does not go out of business, because if that happens, he will go out of business as well.

Lemonis told me, and millions of others that he flat out does not want our business. I have been very happy to oblige, and I have one within a few miles of my home, that I drive by a few times per week. Never darkened their door, and never will.

I quit going to/using CW back in 2008 due to high prices and lousy customer service AND YET they are still in business.

I criticized Lemonis on Facebook and guess what, I got a PM from him denying he ever said anything political.

That was quite a shocker.

I absolutely did not want to get into politics, especially on this site, that was not my intention. I already got a PM from someone who has no way of knowing me calling me a NAZI, and a white supremacist. What a silly waste of time.

My point is, I was just glad the man told me that he didn't want my business BEFORE I found out what a crook he is. The reason doesn't matter, that's why I didn't mention it. When someone, especially a CEO, tells me they don't want my business, I go elsewhere.
