Camping World's new sales method

We are looking for a new MH and went to CW today to see what they had in the way of a class A. But all of the MHs were locked. You had to have a sales person go with you and they would unlock the units you want to look at. There was a waiting list of folks waiting to see units.

Is this something new? Guess I need to look at a different dealer.

We encountered that at one dealer last year but not at others. It may just be a store by store policy and not chain wide.

We've been to two CW here in FL. Every unit was unlocked; no salesman required. We just wandered and looked at units that interested us.

I have two CWs here near me, both of them leave the units unlocked during business hours. If I were to guess I'd say it's something that specific dealer has decided to do. And I agree with you, time to go shop someplace else where you can look without feeling either like you're being pestered or like you're being a nuisance to the sales person.

CW Katy TX. Salesman required to look at locked RV's in yard. Customer RV's in for service left UNLOCKED. Go figure.

We went to CW in Myrtle Beach last weekend to look at upgrading our class A and not only were they locked, we had to be interviewed by a salesperson before he would take us out and unlock them to be viewed!!

My local CW keeps their units locked. Lot is huge with many units. The salesman said they have problems with people stealing thins from the units ... knobs, handles, bulbs and have even found deposits in the toilets.

That may be the case in other CWs.

When we had narrowed our selection to three units, the salesman left those three unlocked and left us alone to make our final selection.

I think is is a store by store policy. Perhaps they've had things taken from unlocked RVs and they've changed their policy.

Assuming you went to the one in Woodstock.. Avoid at all costs place is terrible with service. Check out Three way in Marietta. Also Rv World over in buford just got bought by camping world so be careful there too. I think Mark Tuggle up near you in cumming is pretty good too.

I think you will find this to become the norm, to many can go missing or damaged when left unlocked. Cause they have batteries and people can end up playing with the slides and generators and can cause all kinds of problems.
Most trailers and fifth wheels have no batteries so a lot less people can play with.

The one nearest me left most of theirs unlocked, just not the "high end" ones.

I can understand a dealer leaving the MH's locked! It's a different world we live in today. Lots of folks would not think twice about taking something they like from a new MH, or faking a fall to sue the dealer!

Yeah. We've had RV dealers tell us that people will steal small stuff from the units. It's too bad, but I can understand.

But when we were shopping, if they'd had to have a salesperson babysit us, he better be prepared to spend the day with us.
