As you can tell in the photo that I posted with my original question, my license plate lights have two wire leads, a 12V and a ground. Every replacement light I found that fit the same hole had only a 12V lead, no ground wire. The light housings were all self-grounding. This wouldn’t work for me since my light is mounted in fiberglass. After a lot of searching I came across
this light at SuperBrightLEDs.com. It has a two wire feed and because it is LED, it is brighter and should last a lot longer. They were a snap to install.
Just thought I’d pass this along in case anyone else ran into the same issue.
