Paul: Perchance do you still have any of the components from your destroyed one-step? My motor failed about two weeks ago and I'm searching for a replacement motor. The one-step is a discontinued product and I'm having trouble finding a replacement motor.

I would like to upgrade my awning but there are two issues. First is the cost and second I have a kitchen slide out so the roller on my current one-step is attached to a fabric strip mounted about 4 inches above the factory strip which is part of the roof/wall "J" channel. This places the roller tube center line about 4 inches above the "j" channel and as a result I have no clue how a replacement arm set could be installed and function properly.

I'm hoping I can find a replacement motor and delay the arm replacement until later.

Paul: The One-Touch on my Ultimate has the remote and the wind sensor electronics. My control box is mounted on the forward bulkhead of the front passenger compartment. The control electronics contains a relay and circuitry for detecting current draw and when the motor stalls at either open, or closed, or elsewhere, the electronics opens the relay so as to not burn up the motor. THere are two other relays on this forward bulkhead. Comparing the stamped wire codes to the Winny wiring diagram indicates the wires are associated with the awning, however, in my configuration I don't believe these relays are used as in the past I have pulled them and no effect. Since you dont (didn't) have the wind detection electronics then these relays may be used in your configuration.

The insurance checks from Natl Interstate caught up with us this past week. We have diminishing deductible, and previous claim for lightning damage was a few years ago. They paid all but $250 of the $2k replacement cost. Accomplished all of the claim process by phone and email w/attached photos, bills, etc.

Looks like Roadking will adopt our OneTouch motor. The other pieces are being left with a guy here in Ft Worth for
possible future scavenging.

There is a pic of the new Eclipse armed awning on oue website in the sig block ...go to RV travels and the 2010 travelogue.
