Carefree slide topper.

Well my 5 year old 29ft slide topper thread finally gave out. They started breaking after 2years. The material is still good just poor thread, the new ones on the way. I'll take the old one and have it restitched for a spare.

Treat clean fabric with 3M exterior Scotch Guard. The UV inhibitors will protect the thread and the awning will last many years. Mine is 12 years old and still in good shape.

The threads on our Carefree toppers went the same way. I took both of them off and DW sewed them up with a nylon thread on all four sides. The whole evolution took about 2 hours....saves buying new ones.

Look in the camping section of WM, they have a product that is designed to seal and protect tent seams. It's in a small bottle and easy to apply.

For some reason Carefree has had serious issues with thread made a couple of years ago. I have three slides and the thread from all six sides of the toppers rotted out. Carefree replaced all three toppers.
