Carpet Roller Protector that Works?

Has anyone found a carpet protector that works? I purchased the AP Products Slide Out Slicker and some worked, but others the roller couldn't seem to get on top of the protector. It just pushed them. I am just not a huge fan of the roller depression, but maybe that's just the way it is.

Maybe post some pics of your dilemma and someone will have an idea for you to try.
Happy Glamping.

When manufacturers use quality very dense padding, you will have the indentions. The only way to get away from that is to go hard surface flooring.

Either a flat nylon or aluminum strip placed under the roller that is about 1 inch wider than the roller and 4-6 inches longer then the footprint of the roller. Give the roller a solid surface to roll on and it will lower the energy needed to move the slide.

I used Masonite hardboard and tapered the leading edge.
