We have a diesel Generac generator, QUIETPACT 75D, water-cooled. Has anyone had experience changing the coolant this type of generator? The only drain I can find is on the side of the block.
This generator is enclosed all around with sheet metal. I removed the front panel to change the oil filter and fuel filter. After reading the owners manual thoroughly, it doesn't have any information on draining the coolant. It only says take it to your authorized Generac dealer for this service.
However, after I changed the fuel filter, I found the manual says this should also be done by an authorized dealer.
If anyone has changed the coolant yourself, I would appreciate your advice. I've always felt that anything a service center could do, I could too, but this kind of stumps me.
Thanks,
Larry

Larry, I'm not sure anymore, but one time I knew the answer to your question. It's been a while, but check underneath the bottom. The drain may be on the bottom.

Darryl,
Thanks for the reply. I have looked this thing over several times and the only thing on the bottom is a small hex nut to clean the spark from the exhaust system, or something like that. But, if the computer brings it up from the back of your memory, give me a holler.
Larry
