Changing Thermostat Question

I have a 1996 Fleetwood Southwind Storm That we purchased last year. I have made several upgrades to it. We used it this winter for a week long stay with relatives this Christmas. No problems, but regulating the temperature in the coach with the slider controls with no temp reference marking was a challenge. I was wondering if anyone makes a digital thermostat that I could replace the original with and if so, dose anyone have any experience with making the change. Also is it something I could do myself of should I have it done by a RV service center. Below is a picture of my thermostat.
