Not all coaches have the same charging systems and so you will find some charge chassis batteries off shore power or generator and some do not. The only reason some do not install the charging system to keep chassis batteries charged is cost.

New Question on Coach and Chassis Batteries.

We are new at this. Our first MH is a Coachmen Mirada. Does the coach battery have to be on while we are traveling? If not how do I get my AM/FM radio to work. It is wired to the coach battery for some reason.

Welcome crash&hossfly to irv2.
Most radios are off your coach batteries you may have a fuse blown or a switch on dash that you operate while driving or parked at campground that you have to operate.

Winnie has been installing Trik-L-Start's in all the A's since 07 I think. I added one to mine to keep the chassis battery up when on shore power. Keeps the chassis .5v below the coachs batteries.

Mine seems to wait until the house batteries are fully charged before charging the chassis battery, but then there's times that the chassis battery doesn't seem to be up, like lately, so I'm hoping the battery is bad rather than the charging circuit.

I put a #6 jumper wire between the coach batteies and the chassis battery when in storage and plugged in. Keeps all charged fine.
