Please help me ID the chassis of my 2003 Itasca Sunova 27C. It has coil springs on the front, and a different number of lug nuts on the front wheels to the back wheels. I want to order a tru trac to fix my wandering problems and I need to know what chassis I have. Please help.

Peter27C, welcome to iRV2.com. We are glad to have you join us. Is there an emblem on the steering wheel? If you lift the hood there should be some data tags distinquishing the maker of the chassis. Also on the door post or door should be a data tag with these specifications. In the VIN # is also the manufacturer of the coach. If you have an E45 it would be a Ford chassis. Give us some more info and we should be able to help. Good luck and enjoy the website.

In that case the coil springs are the key - it's the P30 chassis rather than the W20/W22. Yo will also have a 4 speed Hydramatic automatic transmission, whereas the W series has a 5 speed Allison in that model year. Your chassis GVWR should also provide a clue - the W series chassis will be either 20,000 or 22,000 lbs, while the P series is 18,000 or less.

As far as I know, none of the 27's were built on a W22, though some of the longer Sunovas were.

Thankyou, yes it has the 4 speed trans. What is the difference between a P30 and a P32? Do you think the Henderson True Track bar on the rear will fix the wandering?. I have bought the Henderson Super Steer Bell crank but not fitted it yet.
Regards Peter
