Chassis Improvements FW/Winnebago

Just wondering if anyone has experience with an older pre 2009 Fleetwood chassis vs the Power Bridge chassis or the older Winnebago chassis Evolution vs the 2008 and newer Maxum chassis.

My question is the newer chassis worth getting. Say a 2007 Winnebago Tour w/Evolution chassis vs a 2008 Tour w/Maxum chassis?

Or in the Fleetwood. A 2008 Discovery vs a 2009 with Discovery with the Power Bridge chassis.

Can you notice a difference in the chassis?

Perhaps not, unless you have a discerning eye or are a real techie.

Most of the features claimed for the Power Bridge chassis are refinements or improvements over the previous chassis (which was called the Fleetwood Power chassis), increasing strength and storage bay size, larger water tanks, better utility bay layout, etc. And there have been further refinements since the introduction in mid 2008 as well. So while the improvements are real and worthwhile, you may not notice night & day difference between a 2008 and a 2009.

Our 2007 Winnebago Tour has a Freightliner chassis.

Gary RVRoamer - Thanks, I read the article. If only 50% is true it would be a worthwhile consideration. We will be full timing and will need all the storage we can get.

If 100% is true I wonder why I could not notice a difference. Oh that's right , as a rookie I was too frazeled just making sure I kept it on the road and did not hit anything.

llmrealestat - I know the 'base' chassis is freighliner but I bet by your entrance door or somewhere else you will see the word 'Evolution'. If this is the case - if you stick with Winnebago and get a newer model it will have a Frightliner chassis but that chassis will be modified to become the Winnebago Maxxum chassis. What I would like to know is can anyine tell the difference between the Winnebago Evolution Chassis and the Winnebago Maxxum Chassis?
