Chassis Warranty Registration...Did They Do It???

Found out this morning that my Ford Warranty was never registered by the dealer. They registered the Thor warranty but not the Ford with the online Ford Form FCS900. This is the form that re-sets the full term of your warranty to the date you purchased your MH as the retail end-user. You also get an extended allowance for the miles put on the coach during build and transport. It's a deal Ford made with the manufacturers to better sell chassis' to the MH industry. Otherwise, the original warranty starts the day Thor takes it in inventory and it starts ticking away. You may be out of warranty by a year or so before you ever take delivery. The girl at Ford Motor Home Division said this is not unusual. Many think because the Thor warranty is registered, the chassis is as well. Had I encountered a catastrophic failure, I would have been on my own as Ford will not back date it if it wasn't registered by the dealer. The number for Ford, if you want to verify it, is 800-444-3311. Once the dealer finally gets around to registering mine, I'll post who they are. Probably many more from them not registered. It's my understanding, all chassis' must be registered by the dealers separate from the coach.

Never trust or rely on the dealer. Do your own follow up.

Learning the hardway!!! It's the selling dealer's responsibility to submit and have all warranties start on the day you sign the contract/take possession of the unit. I've been fighting for 9 MONTHS to get the chassis warranty date corrected. The chassis was built late 2014, coach attached in 2015, sold as new 2016 model, purchased as new in 2017. The chassis warranty start date was registered in 2015. Renegade and Sprinter/MB have been great doing any warranty work since it's still within warranty period, but 2 year chassis warranty discrepancy, HAVE to get resolved!! We need a "Newcomers guidebook to MH purchasing, things the dealer doesn't tell you"...
