Well, it happened. I got a chip in my wrap around windshield on this trip.
As I was walking around the CG I saw a car with advertisements on it for Windsheild Chip Repair. I stopped in and asked if he would look at my coach and fix the chip.
Larry Diaz of S & L Enterprises, 904-571-7193 was the gentleman who fixed the chipped
Let me say though that before he had shown up in the CG I went to the nearest Auto Zone and purchased a windshield chip repair kit. I read the instructions (sometimes I do that) and it appeared that there were a few items missing in the kit. Oh! Well! That is when I decided to have Larry fix it.
Larry has some very fine professional Windshield Chip Repair tools that made the Auto Zone "kit" look really, really insignificant.
Larry did a superb job on the repair. I can recommend him to anyone needing a Windshield Chip Repair person who is not only professional, but amiable.
p.s., I already paid him so this post is not a form of payment. Hmmm! Maybe I should ask for a discount!!!!

Whereabouts might ol' Larry Diaz of S & L Enterprises hang out?
Congrats on the fix!!!!! That professional chip repair stuff - especially with all the fancy vacuuming equipment they have - does a really nice and strong job. I do carry one of those DIY kits in case I can't find a repair shop and things get worse the longer I go looking for one.
It's a big country out there! Area code 904 is used in the northeast corner of Florida including Jacksonville and St Augustine to the south, but that might not be where he/you really are given cell phones these days...

Often your insurance will pay for a chip repair, to avoid the cost of a windshield replacement later. If you have Florida vehicle insurance, windshield repairs are always covered (per Florida insurance regs).

We are also fortunate in my neck of the woods to have a very honest, professional and capable windshield guy (Northwest Windshields).

Larry is presently at Mayport Naval Station CG.
One of the reasons of posting the phone number is so travelers could contact him and see if he will be, or they will be, in the same neck of the woods. I hope he doesn't mind. Oh! Well, he can always change his phone number!!

I would add that IF you intend to have a chip repaired (either DIY or pro) immediately as soon as it happens pull over and cover the chip completely with tape. Cleanliness and dryness are the most critical factors for the repair resin to adhere properly and leaving that chip hole exposed it will get moisture and dirt and bug juice in it lessening the repair.
The Odyssey folks are always an interesting duo... 007 I saw their post on that fix eons ago and it never occurred to me to reflect it in iRV2. Silly me, now I know better when I come across such informative and thorough posts elsewhere. But then again, I thought we had it all right here!
