Cilajet vs That 303 Stuff

I put this here instead of the Newmar forum 'cause I'd like more than just Newmar owner input. That being said, we spent a lot of time perusing the CS 3710. The salesman mentioned an application called Cilajet. Said it goes on one year, then another year, then 2 years (or something like that). It's supposed to protect the roof and paint and plastic, etc, and is a UV protectant. But many folks around this forum highly recommend Aerospace 303.

I realize this is a dealer thing and another way to make money from us, but if it's really good, maybe it's worth it. I have no idea what it costs, and if it's that good, I can argue the price down to what I think is fair.

Conversely, A big old jug of that 303 is 65-70 bucks on Amazon. If that stuff works just as well and is safe on paint, plastic, metal, etc, then I would have no problem using that, and it would be a lot cheaper. Besides, my wife the monkey seems to spend a lot of time on the roof. Maybe 'cause she knows I hate it up there.

I'm also confident that all dealers/manufacturers offer their version of a similar protectant, soooooo, what's the general concensus?

Thanx, BW

I see no mention of paint on the 303 Aerospace Protectant™ website ...(besides... who wants a "matte finish" on their paint)?

I had no idea it was a matt finish. In fact, I knew nothing about it at all. Thanx for clearing that up for me.

I use and have used 303 on a lot of things around the MH top to bottom and 1 gallon goes along way with a sponge mop application,,,, ---Matt finish--- so I don't look at the top to see if it is shinny,,,, just care if it is protected, tires and other rubber does a nice job on our rig. hope it works for you.

Cilajet is a "paint protection" finish, basically just a synthetic car wax. Of course, their advertising claims their products are far superior, but I guess you have to make up your own mind about that.

Most any modern base/clear coat paint finish should last 10+ years and still look great, with just routine washing and an annual "wax job" to keep the shine up. My coach is almost 13 years old and still sparkles.
