City water hook up shoots water out

2016 Coachman Mirada 35 LS
When I don't have the city water hooked up and I turn the pump on water shoots out of it.what am I doing wrong? I'm a newbie so be gentle lol

If yours is like mine the hose fitting is a one way valve also and the oring is gone letting water come out.Click image for larger version

You maybe able to look up inside and wiggle the seat and see if it helps.

A quick fix is to screw in a blank cap.

Sounds like the one way (check valve) has either gone bad or has some trash around it keeping it open.

Agreed. One that's that new likely just has some manufacturing debris caught in it keeping it from closing. Easy DIY job if you're into it, and not hard to find a replacement if required. Otherwise just put a plug in as suggested earlier.
