City water hookup going into Flesh Water Tank
Has anyone experience this problem, our 2016 Fleetwood Bounder while on city water hookup and service comp knob on CITY it fills my flesh water tank also. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Sorry but I couldn't find a previous thread on this issue.

Sounds like a bad valve. When you move the valve handle from city to fill do you feel normal resistance during movement like it's moving the gate or globe inside the valve housing?

As sdennislee says, either a bad valve or one that's not fully switched to the 'City' position.
Applying city water pressure in the water tank can quickly fill and overwhelm the overflow lines. The tank with overfill and expand, perhaps causing damage to the surrounding structure. I'd get it fixed before trying to use the city water hook up at a campground. For now, fill the tank and use the water pump.
Probably you can get it fixed under warranty.

Maybe you just didn't turn the tank diverter valve from "Fill" to "Use" (wording may differ on yours).

I have had this problem a couple times. When it does this I turn off city water and use the pump and on board water for a day or two. Then go back on city water and problem, what ever it is, has cleared up!

I have heard where the controls are mislabeled. If you put the handle to "Fill Tank" (those are the words on my Bounder panel), are you then on city water instead of filling the fresh tank? Just a thought.

On mine the check valve in the water pump was leaking by and into the tank. There are two solutions. #1 Replace or repair the water pump. #2 Install a one way check valve on eather the inlet or outlet side of the water pump. This is what I did. The hardes part of the job was getting access to the water pump.

A bad check valve would cause this, I wasn't specific about the type of bad valve it could be. As I said, rather than DIY, this is a 2016 model, it certainly should still be under warranty.

So this is what happened, at least on the 2016 Fleetwood Bounder 35k if you hook up the city water and then turn the valve, the water pressure will strip the valve gaskets and cause the valve to go bad, causing the city water to fill the flesh water tank and your pressure pump to continue on non stop. So after Lazydays techs came to fix a common problem they deal with, they advised to always turn the valve to the right possition before turning the water on. Thank you all for the advised

Thanks for the update & glad you got it fixed. I guess we've been lucky (or our 2006 has better valve gaskets). I know we've often shifted from city to fill tank & back while hooked to shore water & have never had that problem.
