I waxed my MH and it looked so nice it made the roof look grungy where it rolls off the side at the top. So, just to see what it would look like , I waxed the side of the roof that you can see from the side. Wow, it really looks nice and white and like brand new.
Is there any harm that carnauba wax can do to this rubber roof? It seems like it should protect it a little.
The owners manual only says not to use any petroleum based cleaners or abrasives on it

Real waxes like carnuba always have a bit of petroleum distillate in them to keep the wax pliable, but not enough to affect the adhesive of a rubber rook. If you don't mind the elbow grease of carnuba, go for it.

Rubber roofs usually clean up pretty well with any good detergent and a dose of bleach in the water. Much easier than using an automotive style cleaner and wax. You can use any wipe on type of surface protectant when you are done, but it won't help much in the long run. The white coloring agent in the rubber continually oxidizes and anything you put on it is going to erode away in a few months.
