Cool Cleaning Bugs Off Diamond Shield

Discovered something the other day for getting stubborn bugs off Diamond Shield. I use hot water and a soft sponge. For the tuff guys, I found a plastic pot scraper (the ones used to clean Teflon pans) works wonders. The plastic is soft enough that it won't mar the Diamond Shield. Pops those bad boys right off the surface. I don't do this on painted surfaces, just areas covered with Diamond Shield.

For the windshield, I use 4/0 steel wool to remove stubborn bugs. The glass is harder than steel wool and won't scratch.

You can make it even easier by treating the front of the MH and your mirrors with Rejex. It goes on very easily and buffs right off. Their motto is nothing sticks but the shine. I have used it for years and it makes bug removal even easier. Nice thing is it can be used on the windshield too.

Used dryer sheets work well for me. Also use Slick Mist by Lucas oil if I know I am headed into a lot of bugs such as Luv Bug season in Florida.

Back in the TISEO days, (how many F-4 guys we got out there) I used spit to clean bugs off the camera lens mounted in the wing of my phabulous Phantom. Spit dissolves bugs like it dissolves food, and I always seem to have some. On my bike, I use pledge furniture polish on my clean plastic windscreen. The bugs came off on the next application

I thought the purpose of diamond shield was to make bug removal easy and protect against rock dings.

Magic Eraser on windows, diamond plate, and chrome. It has too many uses to list, inside scuff marks on floors, water spots on shower doors ....

There is only one real secret to the easy cleaning of Diamond Shield or 3M.....give it a quick coat of wax before each trip, not each travelling day, but each trip. It takes me about 5-10 minutes before a trip to hit it with wax or 303. During the trip, the bugs just rinse off.

I wasn't sure 303 (or Bio-Kleen Amazing Armor in my case) was safe for Diamond Shield. Going to try it out on the next trip.

So far with our old worn out bad looking Diamond Shield nothing seems to help. Tried wax, 303 and still bug removal from the DS is much more difficult.
Only thing that seems to help is removal of bugs as soon as possible.

I read in this thread that waxing the front of the coach was helpful in removing bugs. What is a good brand of wax to use? Is Nu Finish good for this. I want to do mine, but was wondering which one to get. Also, where can I get this 303 stuff?
BTW, I do not have the diamond shield on the front of my coach.

"LarryJB"......I've tried just about every wax made. I've found over the years that NuFinish is one of the easiest to apply and seems to last as long or longer than any other wax. If you have an older bug shield and would like it to look really nice for a short period of time, use a paste wax like Meguiars. It temporarily fills in all the micro scratches.

If it's rubber, plastic, fibreglass, 303 it.

The Norwex cloth is the Best Bug Scrubber you will find. Just warm warm water and a little rubbing. No other chemicals required.
Seems pricey but will last forever. Will Not harm your paint or wax finish. I drape mine over my wash pole to do the windshield. No ladder required.

P\S, there are a few varieties of the Norwex cloth but this one with the visible squares is the only one to use for this purpose.

Actually no bug shield at all. My coach is new, I just want to keep it looking that way
