We would like our carpet cleaned in our one year old motorhome....Up until now,we have just been using Resolve foam for touch-ups.
A mobile carpet cleaner gave us a quote of one hundred dollars, which we feel is excessive for such a small area..
Anyone out there have any suggestions on what we could use ourselves, and not leave any residue..thanks....
Marg

Hi Marg and Paul if it is a small spot I use shaving creme and a brush and dry it with a cloth. About every 2 years I have mine professionally cleaned cost was $75 last year. It looked like it had just come from the factory, he did a great job. Be careful some carpet cleaning products will bleach and change the colour of the carpet.

We bought a Bissel at Walmart for about $65. Called Little Bgreen or something like that. Iy does a good job.

There is a lot of concentrated 'dirt' in an RV carpet so any cleaning yields positive results.

We use the do-it-yourself method like PDB does and keep the machine at our kids home that we see often. Between us and the kids the machine gets a lot of use and has served well. It is a Hoover SteamVac,

We shampoo 2-3 times a year and are always pleased with how well the carpet cleans up and looks for a short short time afterwards.

Paid to have it cleaned once and could not tell the difference between our work and theirs in both apperance and time.

We also use the Hoover SteamVac and get great results in both the MH and house.

Have a Kirby and used that in the MH. Worked real well. I would suggest you shampoo when the humidity is down and leave the windows open til it dries. Otherwise it can mold or at least smell like it. Good luck.

If you are doing yourself--Clean both before and after your trip.

If you are paying someone to do it--we would do it before.
