We are 2nd owners of our mh and our light filtering shades has brown spots scattered thru-out also most as if they have gotten wet and spotted. I want to try cleaning them but am afraid I will ruin them. Our dealer had no suggestions. Hoping some of you will have a solution. I really don't want to replace them if I don't have to.

If you find a solution to your proplem, please post it here. We also have mysterous brown spots accumulating on our night shades. We tried to clean one of the spots with a damp rag and light pressure, but, the shade started to come of in layers. Our shades appear to be made out of some kind of paper product.

We are now afraid to use any cleaning product for fear that the shade will fall apart or melt.

Same problem here. I am considering a dry foam spray that you vacuume off after it dries without having to scub it. We may need to apply a light coat of spray starch when we are through.

I don't know what kind of shade that would be. Ours had what looked like a regular shade. I took them off, released the spring tension, unrolled them, we 'scrubbed' them clean with 'Mr Clean' and re-tensioned and re-rolled them up and put them back in. Did it when we were redoing all the curtains etc, came out just fine.

Use on of the oxy cleaners. They are available at the dollar store.
