Does anybody have any tried and true methods of cleaning the mold and mildew off the tops of slideouts and rooftops? We've recently bought a 2009 Fuzion in excellent condition, but the tops of the slides have lots of mildew and grime embedded in the rubber roof membranes.

Camping World sells a variety of cleaning products made for cleaning rubber roofs. I have used Simple Green with good results on several surfaces. CW is a good place to start though.

I use Dawn dish washing detergent. The roofer we had install 200k sq. ft. (commercial) also recommended it to us but it is also good as a degreaser, watch the wax/polish.

I had a rubber roof that turned mostly black with mold and mildew. I mixed some Simple Green and about a cup of chlorox to a gallon of water and scrubed the roof with a stiff brush. I had to use about ten bucket's full to clean the entire roof and when I got through it looked almost new. Of course I had to wash the entire motorhome and wax it.

What I did is not a recommended procedure, but it worked and caused no damage.

Good tips so far. Don't use a citrus product on the roof, some times the birds think it's food and will peck holes in your rubber roof.
