Cleaning the roof to re-coat

I will be cleaning the roof of my Class C so I can re-coat.
I read that it is OK to use 1 part bleach to 3 parts water for cleaning.
The roof is an EPDM.
Would you all agree the cleaning solution is acceptable.
Thanks.

When I did my EDPM roof, I scrubbed with detergent and water, rinsed, then used a EDPM cleaner and activator before applying the roof coating.

Pretty much what I did too. Wet, scrub, rinse and you're ready for treatment.

Mine has no stains, used water and Dipcor cleaner. Use it every year but not in the direct sun light.

That seems like a lot of bleach. I would be concerned about my finish on the side walls of the coach.

I used a pressure washer. then a fine brush to scratch around vents and edges to make sure I had a good surface to bond to.

It won't do MACH 2, but I can get a sandwich and take a pee.

I don't believe washing with a little Dawn and water, a soft brush, could harm the roof. I wanted bird droppings, sap, dust, gone before I applied the Dicor cleaner and activator. As my mother used to say, "You can't be too clean."

That concentration of bleach may damage the EPEM material, and is strong enough to cause permanent eye damage if splattered in danos face.. When washing my roof I add 2-3 oz bleach to 5G soapy water to kill mold and mildew.
