Cleaning the slide tops - big mess avoided

Decided that after the messy pollen season (in north central Florida, more to come as we head north soon) we would clean the slide tops under the slide awnings. Found this vicious predator waiting for me...

I don't have a slide, but I am curious. When the slide is in is the top exposed to the inside? If it is there seems to be a lot of dirt that could enter the coach. Just curious!

Yes the top of the slide is exposed inside the RV when retracted.
That's why most RVers install slide top awnings to keep debris off the top; they don't stop dust; but leaves and other stuff, and can keep the top of the slide reasonably dry if it has to be retracted in the rain.

Reminds me of a picture joke I have somewhere. A couple is dining in a fine restaurant where the special is frog legs. Then suddenly a line of frogs in wheelchairs exit the kitchen.

I remember that from many years ago. I think it was a "The Far Side" joke. Very funny. I thought!

IMO slides are more trouble than they're worth.
Dirt, dust, pollen, leaves, pine needles and critters are only 6 of the many reasons I would not have a slide.
