Clear Coat Peeling

The rear of my motorhome faces south when it's stored here at home, so it gets a great deal of sun. There is a small spot at the very top of my rear cap where the clear coat is starting to peel. It's currently not visible unless you climb on the roof. Is there any way to seal this area up and prevent it from spreading?

It is pretty straight forward. Wash the area well with soap and water. Sand the area with 320. Scuff the whole are of the peeling and into the good edge feathering it out to a smooth transition. Spray several wet coats of automotive clearcoat from an autoparts store, 4 or 5 at least. Not too wet or it will run. But they should be wet coats.

You can rub/compound out the transition the next day if you want it to look best. To do that start with a rubbing compound and finish with a polishing compound.

Not really. You can sand and re apply clear coat but it will peal again. For a permanent fix, sand all the clear off, apply paint and then clear coat.

I would use 800 to 1000 grit then clean with acetone
