Completed Step 1 of many!

Well, we have completed the first step of many towards our new purchase. We sold our 2000 Hurricane 30q to some nice folks and will now start in earnest towards getting a brand spanking new Newmar Baystar Sport. Been on the factory tour and like what we see. Putting together our order sheet and wish list. Lots of things to do. Have to get it done so I can get all the RV junk out of the house!

Started on Step 2 and 3 today. Talked with bank to establish line of credit using one of my investment accounts as security. Said should not be a problem so will be able to pay cash for Newmar. Only want a few adjustments and those limited to color of leather, flooring, and convection microwave which is not listed as being available in the Sport.

Sent build sheet to Tom Johnsons Camping World Concord, NC and will meet with them on Monday to tweak the order and get closer on numbers. So far so good.

We LOVE using our Bay Star! But do not limit yourself to just one dealer when getting pricing. Do some reviews on where others have purchased as not all dealers are created equal. What happens after the purchase is just as important as what happens before! FWIW, even though we live in NC we bought ours from Independence RV in Winter Garden, FL in part because of the reputation of their service department.

Also take a look at the informative "sticky" and other postings on this forum regarding the Bay Star. It will help you compile your checklist before you take delivery.

You are going to have so much fun...

I would check with dealer closet to manufacturing plant and see what they can do. You may be able to get a better deal even though you will have to fly there and besides if there are any issues you are at the Manufacture to get them taken care of. This way your trip home will be the break in cruise, you can send most of your basic stuff via ground to a local pickup site to place in the MH when you arrive.
