Do you have individual coils for each spark plug? It sounds like you may have a bad one or bad connection causing lower than normal voltage and the knock sensor issue could be related to this EST problem.

they are not individual coils, but I did change the plugs recently but I have had it on the road and put 100 miles on itwithno problems, this happened in the driveway just warming it up
I cleared the computer and restarted ,let it run for awhile with no recurrence of the light ,but I am going to change the knock sensor just for the heck of it Thanks Bill

I know this sounds stupid but our toad, a '94 Saturn SL-1 was setting a check engine light. The code said "ABS low voltage." The problem turned out to be the main battery connector. The car ran fine and there were no other symptoms. Tightening the battery terminal clamp fixed the problem.

FWIW.
