Has anyone created a computer desk that fastens to the armrests of the passenger seat, or flips down to the side like the old style school desks.

I found a few pictures of desks that go on the armrests of a wheelchair and was interested in that style.

Not crazy about the jotto desk that sits on the doghouse for a variety of reasons, and not thrilled about the police style desk that fastens to the floor.

Any other input is appreciated. Id love to do a pull out style on the HUGE useless dash but Im too afraid to mess with the dash.

Looking at the pictures of your new coach over on the Newmar forum the passenger dash area shows a dash slide out draw to hold a computer.
If its similar to mine my laptop fits like it was made for it. If its just a lift up door maybe you could have a unit made.
Try this LINK that you will find over on the Newmar forum.
You can call this company who maybe can make up what your looking for.

I wish it came with a dash slide out drawer, but no such luck. When it comes to wood Im a do it yourself kind. If anyone has attempted this Id love to see what they came up with.

TIA

You might want to check out this RVer's site: http://www.amazingmagictable.com/tray.htm. He builds slide out trays as well as other furniture for RVers.

thanks for the pics and web links. I think I have decided on a desk that will have its base to the right of the passenger chair, without obstructing the ability of the chair to rotate around. Then If I attach a stand and table with swivel, should work out.

Im just planning on having accesible in the forward facing position as I cant figure out a way to use in both directions.

Planning on using self tapping screws for the base, any one have any idea how thick the MH floor usually is, and whether I need to worry about vital structures underneath the floor??

the other thought was to have a table that attaches to the armrests, and then it could be used in any direction, but I have not seen any prototypes on this idea, anyone????

thanks

I made my own. Take a template of the contour of the dash and make atop for a table using three legs.
