Condensation
Wintering in Panama City Beach Florida. Coach walls around windows are dripping with condensation. What the heck? Any tricks to controlling this other than running around with a towel? It was 39 degrees this am.. Uggghhh!

You need to circulate the air & get a dehumidifier. The Eva-Dry ones RVupgrades carries do an excellent job.

Hi Lori,
We are in Gulf Shores, AL and are having the same problem. My wife found out that if she turned on the fantastic vent in the galley it removed the condensation. On the windshield I turn on the defroster fans for a little bit.
The windows in our coach itself don't get condensation as they are thermopane.
I guess the dehumidifier would work very well too.

It takes up more space than I would like, but we always run a full size dehumidifier we picked up from Home Depot, and keep it around 35%

Thanks Lori! Didn't think to investigate if there were smaller dehumidifiers. How effective have you found them to be? I have two bedroom windows that get very wet. Will one of these placed in the main cabin improve the situation back in the bedroom?

You need to vent the MH. We produce a lot of water vapor just by being in the MH, and it has to go somewhere. You can either open a vent or buy a small dehumidifier. Just don't let it continue to "sweat".

At night we crack a window in the front of the coach and run the rear bathroom exhaust fan at the back of the coach. If we don't do that we have the same problem.

While wintering in Pa we learned to leave the bathroom vent open about 1 inch all the time. you loose a small amount of heat BUT you also loose almost all of the moisture, so no more sweating windows or walls.

We lose some heat but we keep an electric heater going in the frontset on low. That seems to keep the chill off.

Your body and breathing puts a lot of moisture in the air. Then you add cooking and showering for more moisture.
Any time the window or frame surface is below the dew point of the air in the RV, it will condense the excess moisture on the cold surface.
Keep a roof vent cracked open about 1/2". When cooking or showering, open the closest vent fully. If a lot of moisture is in the RV, run the vent fan on low. Also wipe the shower walls down with a squeegee to get rid of the excess.
On a large motorhome windshield, running a small fan directed at the windshield will help with the moisture and condensation.
A dehumidifier will also help, but it has to be emptied periodically. The chemical salt units like Damp-Rid are very limited incapacity.
