Hey Todd. I was in the same boat as you, as far as not trusting the local RV repair/sales dealer and not having a lot of friends with RVs. I kept asking around until I finally found a private individual that works on RVs. I would suggest you keep searching until you find a good repairman, especially if you are planning on using this for long distance family vacations. I know I now have a lot more piece of mind since I found someone I can trust.

Out of desperation I bought a gallon of white flex seal. Yup the "I cut this boat in half" stuff.

i can not believe how awesome the liquid stuff is. It is really thick pouring and I used a 1/4" nap roller to smooth out the non-leak areas. If you pour it thick it cures thick so it works really good around the horns and antennas etc.

The best part of it is it dries flexible but really tough and super glossy. The part of the roof I put it on is super reflective. With it being so glossy it should take a while before dirt sticks.

I have a 38' manaco and I need to buy another 3-4 gallons more to do the rest of the roof. But I want to wait a bit to see how it holds up. I will say it is far better than the cool roof and elastomer stuff I have used in the past on other rv's.

It's funny that you said that. I had started to develop a couple very small leaks, and when I went on the roof, I couldn't believe how dried out and cracked all the seals were. I took it to my repairman and thought that he would scrape up all the old putty and replaced with new, but he ended up using White Flex Seal. He just put a thick coat over all the old putty and sealed it up. If I develop any more leaks, I will buy more Flex Seal and do it myself.
