Covering windows

Does anybody cover windows with the foil bubble sheets if so does it keep heat out like they say it does.

Yes it does when I full timed it was the only way I could stay cool

The lot we are in is facing north/south and we use one for the windshield, boy does it help. We got it at camping world for $22 bucks. Now in the 107 degree Tulsa heat we can comfortably sit inside the coach @ 76 degrees.

Next question is should I buy a 4 ft by 125 ft roll for all the windows or just for windshield. The big roll is about 125 dollars

I bought a 4' X 25' at Lowe's and it covered 4 big windows, one small and the windshield. works very good here like today's outside at 92º.

Make sure the 125' roll is a bubble type. Lowe's isn't.

Is the bubble type better because the web site I found has a double bubble roll also.

We used the "Reflectix" brand of foil covered bubble wrap insulation, works great in keeping sun out and temps down. But after facing a scorcher of a Texan summer last year most if not all of it needed to be replace.

As it was getting very patchy where you could see daylight seeping through.

But yes it does indeed work great.

Check out www.easycurtain.net. I bought the interior truck cab curtain for my class C and then special ordered curtains for my bedroom windows. These things are great! Mine are at least 6 years old and still in perfect condition.

It helps keep the inside cooler but the other side is you don't get to look out side, assuming there is a view or something worth looking at outside.

It is best to cover windows on the outside....if covering on the inside the heat has already made it inside the vehicle which can radiate throughout the vehicle

That is very true but if your RV park hasn't got any nice views then it doesn't really matter

Plus sc3283 you are right outside covers are better, but if you haven't got window awnings or other outside covers then at least the reflectix type insulation does a pretty good job, not as good but well worth it over blinds or other shades.

In a class C you can't see outside unless you are sitting down anyway. Yes, I would like a view but when the sun is coming in that front window the blackout is wonderful.

I found the outside cover to be a PITA. I am "vertically challenged" and putting it on was a stretch for me. Then when it was raining it was a mess to take off the wet cover and bring it inside the motorhome (no room in small outside storage compartments). When the weather outside is bad all I have to do is take down my clean, dry cover and fold it into a small square and store it anywhere.

So those of you using "Reflectix" brand of foil covered bubble wrap insulation the question is "How are you getting it to stay in place?". Especially if you put it on the exterior of the coach! Any pics?
