Does anyone know of a credit card that offers discount percentage on diesel? I have a Shell card that gives me 5% off on gasoline but doesn't cover diesel.

I've read several posts about Flying J's RV card which I've signed up for - it gives you the cash price but not a discount persay.

There are some old posts from 2007 & 8 but I didn't find anything more recent which is what got me to start a new thread.

The Flying J card gives you the cash price when using a CC (generally about a 5 cent per gallon discount) PLUS a 1 cent per gallon (diesel) RV discount.
Discover card runs through a series of monthly/quarterly add-on discounts that can get you as much as 5% off a variety of purchases including fuel.
I use my Sam's Discover card for most all of our purchases and you earn a graduated discount up to 2% after $10,000 in purchases per year. We get that done in about 3-4 months so the rest of the year is at the top discount.

Costco's American Express card provides 4% discount on diesel, up to a maximum of 75 gallons per fillup. I have used this card for several years now. It used to be 5% but like everything it was recently changed to 4%. The discount is provided by means of an annual check.

I have a Mastercard by Citizen's Bank which offers 3% on fuel. When I hit $50 they send me a check automatically. Only problem is they limit me to $500/month 'till I have the card a year or so. What good is that when I'm filling up a 150 gal tank?

Generally speaking, and I emphasize generally speaking, most rebate credit cards will not provide a rebate when used at commercial pumps, for obvious reasons. Flying J is some what unique in that they maintain two separate entities at their locations. One is the commercial truck islands, and the other is the retail gas pumps. If you have a rebate card that gives a rebate for gasoline at a retail gas station, then it should also give that rebate when filling with diesel and swiping the card at one of the RV pumps. I have two cards that work that way. If I pay inside or swipe the card even along with by FJ rewards card on the commercial side, then no rebate.

My JP Morgan/Chase cards do not have any language in the agreement that exludes diesel purchases. However, I am certain they would not cover commercial truck pumps. However, BP almost always have diesel pumps on their car islands.

Dirk, I too use BOA. Are the Worldpoints redeemable for cash, or just merchandise?

We have the BLUE AMEX and they pay 5 percent per gal. No exceptions.
We fuel only at Loves or any regular service station with diesel.
The blue American Express have no annual fees, unlike their other cards.

Hi Robsons,
I use the AMEX Cash Back card. No fee, no limits. 5% back on fuel, groceries and pharmacy. 1.25% on everything else. There is a ramp up schedule. Go to Cash Back | Credit Card Comparison | Earn Cash Rebates to read about the card.

Yes, they usually do, but they don't have enough room for someone to navigate with a Motorhome and toad attached.
