Dont understand why people are screaming about the gas prices. Go to England, Canada, Autralia, or almost any other english speaking country and we are still the cheapest gas on the planet. Ifn you cant afford it guess ya gotta start walking, busin, railin, or get another job.

This all sounds like we are trying to feel better about a turning economy. Seems to me that we are forgetting that the price of crude and gas was lower prior to the Hurricanes in the Gulf region few years ago. Then, fuel proces climbed because demand was greater than supply. The reason was, refineries were off line until storm repairs could be completed. A year later, the price of gas had not gone down to pre storm price and Exxon and Mobil reported record profits. Couple this with the declining dollar, new modern refineries coming on line slow and China's climbing demand are all working against us. So, for the charts to be more accurate; weather, world economy and efficiency in the refineries have to be considered. All this being said, I just paid $4.19 per gallon for diesel in Alabama!

No doubt fuel prices are high. We see it every day as I go throught 80-100 gallons every trip at work (thats 1 nights worth at 400-550 miles). Maybe if the prices had gone up more gradually over the past 20 years we wouldn't have noticed.

You bought the motorhome, you pay the price for fuel. Remember that figures lie and liars figure. We think that we are better off today traveling in a motorhome and paying $4.259 (last fill) for a gallon of diesel than we were traveling the country in our pickup camper and buying gas for $0.179 to $0.259 in 1972 when we spent 6 weeks touring the west. Then we spent $3.00 to $3.50 a night for a camp site and today we spend $35 to $56 a night. We would much rather travel in our motorhome which gets 9.6 miles a gallon than our pickup camper which also got 9.6 miles a gallon. Everything is relative. I could go off on a tangent about how the price of oil was much cheaper before we got involved in Iraq, but why bring politics into it? Peace!
