I have a brand new 2007 Monaco Diplomat PDQ that I purchased Sept. 19, 2008

While staying in a County park in Jacksonville FL. some one in a Fifth Wheel camper hit my driver side mirror and the lower part of my coach, when the mirror broke off it fell and put two large dents in the 3M mask, also the Fifth Wheel bumper damaged the lower part of the Mask and body, I have managed to re attach the mirror but i wouldn't want to risk travelling very far with it.

My question is does Monaco have a repair facility in Florida that would be capable of repairing the damaged caused and if so how would I go about arranging for repairs.

I will be wintering down here for the next four months.

Any advice would be most appreiated.

Thank You

Mr V...
Welcome to iRV2 and hopefully the "Monaco Owners Forum" I have put a link to our section of iRV2 to help you find your way to the Monaco group. All you need to do is ask for some "karma please" and you will become a member of a great group of Monaco Owners. We are here to help you as much as we can.

To answer your question - Monaco does have a "Service Center" in Wildwood, Florida at this time.

You can call the toll free number (877) 466-6226 and someone will be able to direct you to the correct department.

Again - welcome to iRV2..we hope you visit & post often!

MM

PS- I am sorry to hear about the damage caused by the fifth wheel!

You may want to take a look Here if Wildwood is full. This is a busy time for service centers in Florida and there may be a couple others recommended in this group of searches

Just for your info, fixing the 3M mask could be pricey. If they have to remove it, the paint underneath may come with it.

I recently got hit in the front end by a total idiot but that is another story. The 3M film was damaged. Total damage $13,000. To speed up repairs and help cover my deductable (yep, the idiot only had $10,000 liability coverage) two of us removed the 3M film. Not an easy job!! Took a total of 4 non stop man hours. I got a quote to install new film for $975.

PS: Yes, some of the paint came off with the film. Didn't matter to me since entire front cap had to be repainted anyway.

Mr V.

We had exactly the same happen to us. The damage on the paint and 3M film looked minor, but Monaco gave us a price of $2000 to fix this. We found this price outrageous and opted not to have this done.

On top of this, the local RV dealer ordered and fitted a mirror that didn't match to other one, but that's a different story.

We thought that the cost of the repair would be minor so we didn't involve the insurance company. Looking back (which is always the easiest) we should have put in a claim.

Live and learn.

Just so you know, Wildwood does have parking with electric and water. There is also a dump station. The day they tell you to check in is a dead day, meaning that they do not work on your coach that day. They will look at the next day and then schedule it into the shop. They pick it up at 7:30 each morning and bring it back to your pad at 4 in the afternoon. Been there twice and think they do a good job.
