Heater control valve bad.... How many have had this problem/failure?

I am asking this because:We purchased a Damon Intruder in 2003 and took it back to dealer 2 times ,then refered to Workhorse for 2 times and now that its out of warranty have found out the problem is the Heater control valve and Damon has not stepped up to handle this as a on-going KNOWN defect! Is Official that Damon would not step up and take care of this after all workorders were sent showing failure during warranty, even thought we dealt with incompetent techs at a Damon dealer and workhorse dealer. so much for Customer friendly company.

I had my Evans control valve go bad. It was replaced by the dealer. When it was bad it started to blow hot air instead of cold air, I would turn the control all the way to hottest setting wait a few seconds then turn it back to coldest setting. This would get it working for a while.

Sounds like it is, or was a Workhorse problem, not Damon's. Workhorse installs the mechanics of the air conditioning.

Thats one of the problems with owning a motorhome. You have to deal with three or even four different groups of warranty providers - Coach ( the house), appliance manufacturers ( reefer, water heater etc,)chassis ( Workhorse) and even transmission ( Allison)

The Evans control valve is the Mototrhome manufactures responsibility. Workhorse only attaches the compressor and connection hoses. If you look in all the documentation that the RV manufacturer includes with the Motorhome, it usually contains the brochure on the Evans HVAC system. They include this because they (the motorhome manufacturer) installed the HVAC system. If you do a search for Evan's Control Valves, it is listed many, many times on the different forums. I think there was some defective ones out their. I have an Evans system on my Newmar and it acts up occasionally, I just turn it from Cold to Hot and back again to Cold 3 or 4 times and it starts to function correctly. I would rather do that then drive 400 miles to the closest Newmar dealer to have it replaced.

Thanks Cad-Man, after taking motorhome to Damon dealer 2 times, then referenced to take to Workhorse, then after 2 times told to take back to Damon dealer, then after Motorhome sat at dealer for month was called that dealer is closed for good and come get motorhome unfixed. Then to new Damon dealer and now Damon says no assistance as out of warranty NOW. I guess I will contact Acme or Evans for possible assistance with part. so much for Damon customer relations or customer retention.Sorry company.
