Hi Everyone,

I have a 1999 Winnebago/Itasca diesel pusher with a SCS/Frigette dash distribution unit. It's been worked on in the past I assume as when I bought it the air distribution wasn't as selected on the controls.

I was hoping that I could disassemble it and put it back together properly but cannot find any information on how the unit goes back together. Calls to the SCS/Frigette 800#'s ring busy at all hours of the day. No one answers the regular number at all.

Does anyone know where I can get information about the SCS/Frigette systems so I can properly service mine?

As an aside, I was trying to get information from Freightliner and Winnebago about how much freon the a/c system takes and they didn't know anything. Who knew that this other company was the one to ask. But...since they seem to possibly be out of business, I don't know if that does any good.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Barney

STRANGE!!!
A few months ago we google'd SCS/Frigette and found they had declared bankruptcy. Their old dealer/service center here in Austin confirmed. Now a google search does not mention it!
We've never been able to contact anyone (phone or email) and like you, need parts.
Appears they have several "divisions" and note one was sold off in 2006.
Anyone with up to date definitive information.

Just tried to contact SCS/Frigette in Fort Worth and no human answers the phone. Monaco parts guy says they are out of business. Their local number is 817.293.5313.

Thanks Hooligan. I looked at that before but couldn't find an "exploded parts breakdown" of the distribution box.

I was hoping that there might have been a manual produced at some point that may be "in the wild"

I did gather one bit of useful information possibly. When evacuating the a/c system, no one could give me a definitive answer as to how much oil needed to be returned to the system. Because I was able to finally figure out that the system was SCS, I found that my system needs 10oz.

Does that sound right?

I'm new to RVing. What does one do in a situation such as this when a supplier goes belly up?

Make sure you use the correct oil for your system. There are three different viscosity oils. There is PAG 46, PAG 100 and PAG 150. My Monaco SCS system with a Sanden compressor uses the PAG-100
POE, PAG, Ester, U/V Dye, Polyol Ester, A/C Lubricants
