I have a 1999 Diplomat 38A on which the dash heater fan has quit. I've checked fuses in the exterior electrical copartment and all looks fine. Has anyone ever changed the fan? and if so where is the easisest place to access the heater fan?
Any and all help would be appreciated...Its starting to get a little cool up here!

Hi MSP70,
Welcome to iRV2. Does the fan work when the dash controls are in the vent, defrost or A/C positions? When testing this, try the fan speed switch in all of the speed settings.

Just because they look good does not mean they are good, use a test light.

Open the front generator compartment area and look (usually to the left) for the heater core, evaporator and blower motor housing. You should see a few wires plugged onto some terminals. This is your fan speed resistor pack. You should have voltage (full 12 volt) going in and depending on the speed you select a lower voltage coming out. It is easy enough to pull the two screws and pull out the resistor pack. On the opposite side you will see a few coil windings; if any are open the pack is made and must be replaced. God luck and keep us posted.

HEY, MSP70!!! Don't, under ANY circumstance, stop in to a svc. cntr. to have your fan fixed!!! Our dash fan also quit last Dec. on our 06 model MH and when we pulled in to have it repaired we made the mistake of walking the lot at the dealer while we were waiting.....yup, we now have an 08 rig!!!!!! Dang....THAT was one expensive fan repair. Steve & Lynette
