Check the water pump filter. It should be between the water tank and the water pump. Mine cracked one winter.

Did you turn the city fill valve back after filling with water? If you didn't the pump will keep running.

I did take the clear "pre" filter off when I removed the pump.. I didn't see any cracks.. but I had the same thought..

So... As a follow up to my dilemma..

I ended up removing the pump and taking it apart to see if I could find any damage or anything that could be the culprit... I found nothing.. as a last resort.. I pulled the manual and read through everything, but it was pretty much useless...

I finally decided to call Shurflo's technical support line... the lady I spoke with told me there is an adjustment screw at the bottom center of the pump (3mm hex).. she said to turn it COUNTER-CLOCKWISE and it would likely solve the problem.. Well, I did just that, and it did solve the problem.. sorta....

It now shuts off.. but it's just not acting/sounding the same.. still not 100% sure why I needed to adjust something... when I asked her, she didn't have a real clear answer other than... things happen... which I get.. but I'd prefer to know WHAT happened..

Anyway.. my pump is turning off properly.. and I am feeling much better about things.. I think I'll continue to "tweak" things a bit.. but for now, crisis averted..

Thanks for all the help and suggestions...
