Deep cycle battery help

Replaced my cranking batts today. Technician installing noticed my house batteries needed water. Ended up needing quite a bit of water. What is the chance they will not be damaged. Last checked water in Jan.

They work, but have not been holding charge as long as they should. any thoughts?

You should check the water in your batteries at least once every month. Those batteries are probably shot. Sulfication of the cells. If you use the coach in the winter they will probably not last.

All you can do is monitor the batteries and see how it goes. A good deep cycle, like a golf cart battery, can withstand occasional abuse like letting the water run low. Less rugged batteries might be ruined or at least noticeably reduced in their amp-hour capacity. I wouldn't throw them away merely becasue it happened, but neither would I be surprised if there were further problems with them after that.

You don't mention how old the batteries are. I noticed after my deep cycle battery was about four years old, it didn't hold a charge as long as when it was new. I replaced the battery this year and everything's back to normal again (probably for about another four or so years anyway).
